I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were basic but clean and spacious, with a good shower and clean towels daily. However, there were some issues like shredded fabric on the bed base and a burnt-out plug socket. The location was convenient, right in the heart of Gloucester, but some parts felt in decline. The service was not the friendliest, though efficient, and the breakfast quality varied. The dining experience was hit or miss, and the lack of some essential items was noticeable.

The hotel was ideally located in the city center, making it convenient to explore. The rooms had a quirky charm but lacked the advertised period beams. They were kept clean but would benefit from an update. The staff provided helpful service, although the area manager was unapproachable. The breakfast was enjoyable and excellent value for money. The facilities were adequate, with room for improvement.

The bathroom was disgusting, with the shower full of mold, shower door handle hanging off, and shower control not working properly. Hardly any water flush on the toilet, the sink plug hanging off, dirty floor, carpet, and broken stool. Overall, every area of this hotel needed a good clean; it was extremely dirty. I was expecting an old building, but not a dirty one. I would never stay here again. The breakfast room was not appealing, and there was nothing good to say. The approach to the hotel was not appealing either, and everything was locked up by 10 pm; I had to use a side alley to get in. The staff kindly gave us a radiator when we found out the heating did not work.
